Yesterday began with a pannekoek breakfast at De Dutch where my companion was accused of being a resident of the local mental hospital by our wonderful server. Why you ask? This I reply:

Little did he know what was coming later in the day... He would have had me pegged as a Riverview candidate.
We moved on to the nerdiest toy store in the lower mainland and proceeded to browse for almost two hours. Incredible displays of Star Wars, DC Comics, G.I.Joe, Transformers.. We were in geek heaven. I have been to this particular store on many occasions but never really paid attention to the epic dioramas located on the shelves above me. Absolutely incredible!

As you may have guessed, things were purchased. The best purchase being the Clone Trooper helmet complete with a microphone and various pre-programmed phrases. For all of the purists out there I realise it is not as awesome as a Storm Trooper helmet as it came from the prequel series but at least we can say the Clone Troopers were not featured in Phantom Menace, right? Right.
So back to my awesome helmet... Once purchased, I figured I would spend the rest of the outing wearing it mostly because I am the coolest person you know. I wore it in the car (I was NOT driving), I wore it in the parking lot and may have ventured into a store with it on. It does get rather stuffy in there so I could not wear it continuously(and I didn't want anybody to think I was a weirdo) When it wasn't on my head, it was tucked under my arm like a super stealth motorcycle helmet. Fuck I am slick. My milkshake definitely brings all the boys to the yard.
Once home it was time for Star Wars movie watching time and pizza. Yeah, yeah.. it was a fatty day. Who cares? I am sure my neighbours were rather perturbed at the sight of a real live Clone Trooper in their midst. I mean you never know when shit's gonna get real. Even child got into it when it arrived home.
Like mother like childer..

All in all, a great day was had by all. Sometimes you just gots ta have those fun, do nothing but do something days. No worries, no bothers, just pure nerd fun.
Looking back, I really should have walked my doggie in the helmet. Damn! What was I not thinking? Tonight will be the night! And maybe tomorrow morning... I should also answer the door for the maid wearing the helmet and continue to wear it the whole time she is here. I am definitely picking up child from school in the helmet. This could get very fun and very weird indeed....
